“BECAUSE WE MUST”.

A DUO SHOW WITH LASER 3.14 AT
THE O.D.GALLERY IN AMSTERDAM

FROM JAN 20 UNTIL MARCH 12

“ Because we must“

Get an insight in the process of Perishable Rush and Laser3.14 as they work on art for their duo show.

O.D. Gallery is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition BECAUSE WE MUST with works by Perishable Rush and Laser 3.14. Both artists have a long track record in the world of street art, while employing an entirely unique visual language.

Perishable Rush finds his inspiration and materials in our city streets. Always on the lookout for a story that needs to be told and the materials to tell it with. For this show he added a few new silhouettes to his ongoing mask series in which he plays with existing imagery to create something new.

Besides being a graffiti artist and painter, Laser 3.14 is also a poet, leaving his socially critical street poems on fences and construction sites. Creating poetry on the street for over 15 years, Laser 3.14’s name is inseparable from any conversation about Amsterdam and urban art.

Their urgency to create, with the city as a source of inspiration and support for their work, prompted O.D. Gallery to ask them to collaborate on an exhibition: BECAUSE WE MUST.
Besides the presentation of their individual work, Perishable Rush and Laser 3.14 have also joined forces on several works together for this occasion.

The artists will be present during the opening.

Welcome to my world

I Perishable Rush (Netherlands 1975) am a street artist in the broadest sense of the word. I find my inspiration and materials by having a good look around when I'm outside, always on the lookout for a story that needs be told and how that should be done.

I work on different series of artworks; masks, portraits and skull sculptures. In my masks I focus on visualizing my observations of the world we live in. And in my portraits I pay tribute to characters that inspire me, to gamechangers and innovators.

My skulls are more material oriented and show my passion for paint structures found on our city walls.
