This is my second tribute portrait of Prince. I wanted to make a special portrait of the way he looked during the time when Purple Rain came out. He had quite a few iconic looks and the purple rain look was one of my favorites. In this piece I used paper mostly sourced in the streets of Amsterdam mixed with a Purple Rain movie poster. The paper is glued onto a deep dark purple canvas. The portrait is lasercut from the collage. In this portrait I tried to capture the characteristics of Prince as minimalistic as I could to contrast the chaotic collaged background.
